The parents
Our objective is to breed healthy and social animals according to the breed standard. Therefore, we naturally start from parents who themselves meet these requirements.
They live with us as real family dogs, are fed healthy food, get the necessary exercise and go along on trips.
Their upbringing focuses both on living quietly at home and being active and enterprising outside, and on having contact with new people and surroundings when travelling and on walks.
All adult dogs used in our breeding programme are tested according to the current standards.
- hip dysplasia and hip laxity/stability (Vezzoni or PennHip)
- eye test by ophthalmologist-veterinarian with ECVO-test (a.o. cataract and progressive retina atrophy)
- patella luxation
- genetic scan for more than 200 hereditary diseases (My Dog DNA), of which the most important with Lagotto are
the benign juvenile epilepsy (JE), the short-hairedness (Furnishing) and the storage disease (Lysosomal Storage Disease).
Our kennel "di Sole e Terra" is registered by the Royal Society Sint-Hubertus (KMSH/FCI). We follow its regulations concerning the breeding, the pedigrees and DNA identification, approval.
The legal registration is with DOGID with microchip and European passport that also serves as vaccination booklet.
